Alcoa Employee Elected 2007 Fellow of the American Welding Society

Alcoa announced today that Israel Stol, a senior manufacturing specialist at Alcoa Technical Center in Upper Burrell Township, has been elected to the 2007 Class of Fellows of the American Welding Society. The distinction is granted in recognition of outstanding and distinguished contributions to the advancement of the science, technology and application of welding.

Stol is one of only five international experts selected for this prestigious honor during 2007.  His work has been instrumental in the development of fusion- and solid-state-based welding processes used in a wide range of applications.

Stol, a resident of Mt. Lebanon, was inducted at the AWS Annual Meeting in Chicago. The honorary title of AWS Fellow was established in 1990 to recognize members who have made distinguished contributions and promoted and sustained professionalism in the field of welding science and technology.
